The four piece, whose legendarily rock and roll antics earn them almost as much attention as their tunes, arrive at the Brook Street venue on the auspicious date of Friday 13 December.

The View first played Preston when they appeared at the Radio One Big Weekend on Moor Park back in 2007, and they have returned several times since, always playing at 53 Degrees, with their last visit being in November 2010.

They shot to success with the release of their debut album, Hats Off To The Buskers, which went straight to the top of the charts in January 2007, and which was further boosted by the success of their Number Three single, Same Jeans.

Follow up album, Which Bitch, went in at Number Four but quickly dropped and this was
followed by the even less successful Bread and Circuses in 2011.

But last year, they achieved a remarkable rennaissance when their fourth album, Cheeky For a Reason, sent them back into the Top 10.

A spokesman for 53 Degrees said: “We are pleased to announce that indie rockers The View are coming to Preston, in what’s shaping up to be a great Christmas line up.

“After making a glorious return with last year’s Top 10 hit, Cheeky For A Reason, which received glowing reviews, won The Sunday Mail’s Best Album of 2012, Album of the Year at The Scottish Music Awards, and earned The View a support
lot alongside The Stone Roses, the band have compiled their finest moments to date on the Seven Year Setlist Best Of album.

“And this December, The View bring their greatest hits to Preston, in a fast and furious set which gives the four-piece the chance to put a new spin on all the fan favourites.

“So expect Top 5 classic, Same Jeans, NME Award winning Wasted Little DJs, Which Bitch’s highlight track Shock Horror and their first ever single, How Long, alongside
later cuts like brand new single, Standard.”

Tickets go on sale this Friday July 19 and will be available from the 53 Degrees box office on 01772 893000, from Action Records, Church Street, Preston, on 01772 258809, or online at www.lancashiretickets.co.uk
