Local favourites such as Thistle, Scolds Bridle, Cartoon Food and the Ian Gartside Band will take the stage, but organisers have also secured Glastonbury success Ferocious Dog and several artists who have lit up the stage at the Great British R & B Festival at Colne, like Smokehouse Boys, Tom Doughty and The Devil’s Jukebox.

Organiser Rachael Bailey said she had been motivated to pull the event together after the cancellation of Fylde Folk’n’Roots Festival.

“Keeping quality live music available to the community is important,” she said.

“The North West is classed as a musically deprived area! The festival has always attracted people from all over the UK and I am pleased to say many have been in touch to say they will support the event”
