Quadrophonic sound night on offer at the Conti

A theme night based around cult film Quadrophenia promises to be a ‘handsome night’ for visitors to the Continental in Preston on Friday, November 8.

And the venue’s Quadrophenia Night – a show, theme night and tribute to the iconic movie rolled into one – also includes live music from The Atlantics and support, plus a DJ’s set from Leicester-based Drew Stansall, the sax player with The Specials since 2008 who also featured with ska legend Prince Buster during a distinguished career.

Drew will be spinning the best in ska, Two Tone, 60s Soul and Mod until late, on a night when you can expect to hear all the hits from the film, including The Who’s My Generation and The Real Me, The Crystals’ Da Doo Ron Ron, The Kingsmen’s Louie Louie, The Kinks’ You Really Got Me, Booker T & The MGs’ Green Onions, The Ronettes’ Be My Baby, and the High Numbers’ Zoot Suit.

The event includes a big screen showing of the 1979 cult success set in London and Brighton and which shot Phil Daniels and Leslie Ash to fame, set in 1965 aainst the soundtrack of The Who’s mighty 1973 concept album of the same name, and following the story of disillusioned youth Jimmy (Daniels) and his Mod lifestyle.
