Hide AdPhil recently completed his The Final Curtain Tour marking his retirement from the professional comedy scene.
Jim Minall, Friends of Folk organiser, said: “It was tremendous news when Phil said ‘yes’ to this special appearance at New Longton.
“It will be a night of memorable music and, of course, much laughter!”
At 16 Phil was influenced by many of the great song writers of the 60s.

Hide AdHe bought a second-hand guitar which he always took with him to friend’s houses.
Since picking up his guitar again Phil has toured successfully as a duo with Ken Nicol and they released a joint CD ‘Nicol & Cool’ featuring many of Phil’s self-penned songs.
Phil has also wowed the massive audience at Fairport Convention’s Cropredy Festival and has also toured with Fairport Convention.
His tribute song to Bob Dylan is particularly special and has received great audience acclaim, as did his song remembering the experience of performing in Los Angeles.
