Only here for the beer

Next weekend will be a date writ large in every Lancashire real enthusiast’s diary, as one of the county’s oldest CAMRA beer festivals kicks off on the coast.

The 32nd annual Fleetwood Beer and Cider Festival gets underway at the Marine Hall, right, on on Thursday February 6, winding up on Saturday February 8.

Organised by Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre CAMRA, some 120 real ales and beers from around the world are promised,

A spokesman for the group said: “The beers at the festival will again include a mix of old favourites and brand new brews.”

A list of the ales available can be found at www.blackpoolcamra.org.uk/, although this is provisonal and further additions are possible.

Food will be available, and live entertainment will be provided every day. The pumps begin flowing on Thursday at 5pm until 11pm, Friday from noon until 11pm and Saturday, from noon until 11pm.

The event kicks off a busy month for the Marine Hall.

On Sunday February 23 the venue hosts its first ever Wedding Open Day (admission £1).

With plenty of local wedding suppliers showcasing all you need for your big day it’s the perfect opportunity to be inspired, meet the team and take a tour of the venue.

The following weekend, Saturday, March 1, smash hit 90s band Toploader visit, a date on which they will be supported by Preston born singer/songwriter Mike Dignam.
