From 6pm, the choir will be out in force in the shopping centre, wearing Santa hats and reindeer antlers, to spread Christmas cheer among the late night shopping crowds.

The choir, founded by Tyndale Thomas, will also be collecting money for the North West cardiac rehabilitation charity, Heatbeat.

Although they didn’t win, they were highly commended by the judges, including the founder of the London Community Choir, Rev Bazil Meade, MOBO award winning vocal coach Carrie Grant, and soul diva Ruby Turner.

They also got the thumbs up from motorists on the way to the final when, stuck in traffic jams after a pile up, they got out to entertain other stranded drivers from the hard shoulder.
