From Meccano trains, model fairground rides and construction equipment to boats and planes, there’s plenty to see this weekend throughout both the museum and the exhibition.

Many of the vehicles are fully functional models, displayed among 60 full size operational vehicles.

There will also be a photographic display and screening of a short film of the world’s only full size Meccano bridge.

Founded in 1983, the museum recently celebrated its 30 year anniversary in the collection of some of the most historic vehicles, with regular shows and events throughout the year and a constant stream of ‘visiting’ exhibits, there is always something new to see.

The vehicles are only part of the museum however, as the building has much history to it, dating back to its use in the Leyland Motors Factory as early as the 1930’s.

If you’re looking to catch the event, times are 10am-5pm Saturday 12 April and again Sunday.

Admission rates are £6.50 for adults and £4.00 for children, with no charge for under 4’s.
