Visitors can learn how to make butterfly feeders and bug homes, attend a workshop about attracting garden wildlife and even owl pellet dissections.

RSPB staff will also be available to answer any questions and suggest ways to get more out of the local environment.

At the heart of the event, The Dukes cinema will be screening Project Wild Thing(PG) at 2pm. This film takes a revealing look at the issue of the increasing disconnect between children and nature.

Director David Bond is concerned that his children’s waking hours are dominated by marketing and screen dependency.

In an attempt to compete with the brands, Bond appoints himself Marketing Director for Nature and sets about selling nature to British families.
