The two-day festival, organised by South Ribble Council’s Western Parishes Neighbourhood Forum in partnership with the Creative Network, will see live acts perform at venues across the village – everywhere from pubs to

cafes, restaurants, churches and even estate agents.

There’ll also be a packed programme of events , including craft demonstrations, a Saturday sing-along, Indian cookery classes, an art exhibition, afternoon teas and a fashion show.

Children can also try their hands at kids’ craft sessions and gingerbread men

decorating while having the chance to meet officers from Lancashire Fire and Rescue.

The wristbands cost £5 and buy entry to the full programme of live acts and events planned across today, and tomorrow, Saturday.

The live music will range from pop to 50s rock n’ roll, jazz and blues, instrumental funk, choirs, French folk

music and absolutely everything in-between.

Coun Phil Smith said: “Both Leyland Live and Penwortham Live have proven extremely popular with thousands of people turning out every year.

“The festivals showcase the very best of local

musical talent and really do offer something for everyone and all tastes.

“It’s a real chance for communities to come together and enjoy the wide range of entertainment while supporting our fantastic local businesses and giving them a welcome boost.”

Wristbands can be bought from all participating venues, a full list and more information can be found at www.facebook.com/longtonlive.
