Let’s get ready to Ramble

For one day only, Wednesday 30th October, people can catch a vintage Ribble bus and explore the hidden gems of Preston for free.

The organisers are offering people a chance to “ride on a train, make your own arty masterpiece, camouflage yourself from head to toe, and go on a spooky ghost hunt!”

The Red Rose Ramblers will run every 30 minutes throughout the day between 10.30am-4.30pm.

And like the city tour buses in top tourist destination, you can hop on/hop off at museums or just enjoy the looping journey around the city.

Buses will start from Ribble Steam Railway at 10.30am, and take a circular route stopping at the Lancashire Infantry Museum, then the Museum of Lancashire, and finally the Harris Museum & Art Gallery before setting off back to the Ribble Steam Railway.

Please note: due to their vintage, the buses are unable to cater for wheelchair users and some people with reduced mobility might experience difficulty accessing the bus, but assistance will be available.

Lancashire Infantry Museum: last bus stop on Watling Street just the right turn on to Sir Tom Finney Way.

Museum of Lancashire:

Harris Museum & Art Gallery: Park & Ride bus stop on Jacson Street.

The bus is being provided and run by the Ribble Vehicle Preservation Trust.

The bus is free but you have to pay for admission at the Ribble Steam Railway.
