Preston-born Louise Walden and her partner Owen Edwards are hosting a special Masterclass on Tuesday, October 29.

The British Ice Dance Champions and two of the stars of the Hot Ice Show in Blackpool will be teaching wannabes how to perform on the ice over three classes.

Each class at Blackpool’s Pleasure Beach Arena will be tailored for beginners,
intermediate skaters and those of an advanced level and will take place at different times of the day.

Louise and Owen began their partnership seven years ago with the goal of becoming British Champions and an ambition to represent the country on the international stage.

They have since competed in the European and World Championships, finishing 13th on their debut, the best a British duo had achieved in more than a decade.

The pair will take each class through a group warm up plus various moves on the ice, while learning a few routines set to music before it all comes together, being choreographed by two of the best in the business.

Louise said: “We loved being part of the whole Hot Ice Show experience for the first time and we have always enjoyed performing.

“This Masterclass allows us to combine our passions.

“Our intention is to help demonstrate that anyone can, in fact, dance on ice no matter where you are, who you are, your age or the limitations you have.

“We want the classes to promote fun, knowledge and development which allows skaters, no matter what their ability, to impress on the ice.”
