The iconic presenter of musical taste making TV programmes, from the Tube to his BBC2 series, Later, Jools has performed and recorded with some of the greatest musicians in the world, from Eric Clapton to the late George Harrison, Luther Vandross, Sting, BB King, Paul Weller and many many more.

He returns with his 20=strong Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, complete with its regular stars including soul singers Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall, Specials trombonist Rico Rodriguez and, his drummer ever since the Squeeze days, Gilson Lavis.

It’s a night of bruising boogie woogie party tunes from some of the best musicians in the business.

Last year, Jools was joined onstage by another Squeeze compadre, Chris Difford, reuniting three members of the chart topping band.

And the year before, 1960s star Sandie Shaw was his very special guest at the Guild Hall.

Jools seems enduringly popular at our city’s flagship venue and always gets the crowd dancing, despite this being a seated show.

Although this show is often a sell out, this year, there is a handful of tickets still remaining as the Evening Post went to press.

They are available from the Guild Hall box office on 0845 344 2012.
