Former members of 1960s legends The Kinks are playing together in Preston next month.

The Kast Off Kinks will be performing at The Mad Ferret on Fylde Road at 7.30pm on Friday, October 4.

The band includes long-time members of The Kinks, whose famous records include You Really Got Me, Waterloo Sunset and Village Green Preservation Society.

Drummer Mick Avory (Kink from 1964-1984) was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.

Bass guitarist and vocalist Jim Rodford (Kink from 1978-1996) also plays with The Zombies.

He co-founded Argent and also did a stint with The Animals.

Ian Gibbons (a Kink from 1979-1989 and 1992-1996) is a current member of Kinks frontman Ray Davies’ band.

And Dave Clarke on guitar and vocals has worked with Noel Redding, Tim Rose, and members of The Who, Wings, Animals, The Beach Boys and Spirit.

The Kast Offs enjoy the endorsement of Ray Davies, who has been known to guest with them over the years and who booked them to play his Meltdown Festival in 2011.

The band will perform a 90-plus minute set of Kinks rarities and classics.

There will be support from Preston band Johnny 5th Wheel and The Cowards
