Joe Brown’s Spring Tour sees him play Southport Theatre on April 17 and Blackpool Grand Theatre on May 3.

Long before rock ‘n roll, he was brought up in the music hall/pub tradition and his first big love was skiffle.

Then along came Little Richard and everything changed overnight.

Then, as if that weren’t enough, Liverpool gave us The Beatles.

Though The Beatles supported Joe on several occasions, the music scene changed with their advent and their adventurous spirit touched everyone, Joe included.

He later became life-long friends with George Harrison, the best man at his wedding and a ukulele-loving neighbour.

Electric guitar and acoustic, fiddle, mandolin, ukulele and even the odd bit of banjo come into play. His rendition of I’ll See You In My Dreams, closing the show at the George Harrison Tribute Concert, brought the house down as did his appearances at Glastonbury and the Lord Mayor’s Trafalgar Square show.

He is promoting his new LP, The Ukulele Album, which includes uke versions of classics such as Ace Of Spades, Mr Blue Skies and Pinball Wizard.

Tickets: £20.50 - £30.50 depending on venue.
