It’s the ultimate tribute band! From The Jam return to 53 Degrees tomorrow night, still fronted by Paul Weller’s former right-hand man, Bruce Foxton.

Bruce was bassist in the original line up of The Jam, and played on all their hits, including Eton Rifles, News of the World, A Town Called Malice and Down in the Tube Station at Midnight.

And, as well as Foxton, From the Jam boast some of the industry’s finest and most in-demand musicians around.

Foxton still admits he was shocked when frontman Weller suddenly disbanded The Jam in 1982 in order to form The Style Council.

From the Jam formed in 2007 and at first also featured The Jam’s original drummer Rick Buckler, alongside Foxton and singer Russell Hastings.

Buckler has since left but Foxton recruited former Big Country star Mark Brzezicki, whom he toured with in 1994 as part of The Casbah Club
supporting The Who.

The Jam were one of the most successful bands of the UK punk and New Wave era, enjoying 18 Top 40 singles alongside seven hit albums from their inception in 1977 to their split in 1982.

Bruce went on to play for 15 years in another legendary punk band, Stiff Little Fingers.

This year marks 35 years since The Jam’s iconic album, All Mod Cons, was released and the band will be playing the record in its entirety in shows later this year.

But at 53 Degrees, they will focus on their new album from last year, Back In The Room – and also playing from that huge back catalogue of Jam smash hits.

Support is from Deadwood Dog. Tickets are still on sale at £20 plus booking fee from the box office on 01772 893000 or Action Records, Church Street, Preston, on 01772 258809.
