Mostly through timing alone The Rezillos were caught up in the nascent punk scene and debut single I Can’t Stand My Baby made them stars of the underground after airings on John Peel.

A run of classic quirky new wave singles My Baby Does Good Sculptures, Top of the Pops and Destination Venus, propelled them into the top 10.

Landmark 1978 album Can’t Stand the Rezillos reached the top 10 but later that year the group split.

Now they’re back and playing 53 Degrees on Good Friday, April 18, so kick off your Easter weekend with a blast of high
energy spiky power pop.

Tickets £15, for more details go to www.53degrees.net/
