Games, Peppa and a giant robot

Children’s TV favourite Peppa Pig, an eight foot robot and giant board games are just some of the free attractions lined to keep families entertained at Preston’s biggest shopping centre this summer.

St George’s Shopping Centre’s ‘Summer of Fun’ kicks off on August 3. Bosses at the centre are pulling out all the stops to ensure the centre has plenty to keep youngsters – and adults – entertained during the summer holidays.

The fun will start on Monday August 3 when an area of the centre will be transformed for giant lawn games. There’ll be a host of giant favourites including Jenga, Connect 4, Snakes & Ladders, and Noughts & Crosses.

The games will be available free of charge from 11am until 4pm, up to and including Sunday August 9.

The following weekend, on Saturday August 15, there will be a special treat for youngsters when TV favourites Peppa Pig and George drop in.

The popular pair will host a meet and greet followed by story time sessions on the lawn throughout the day.

Show times are 11am, noon, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm and are free of charge.

From Monday August 17 to Saturday August 22 there’ll be something for adventurous kids, a digital climbing wall, from 11am until 4pm each day.

And to end the summer holidays with a bang the biggest entertainer on the planet – Titan the Robot – will visit.

Street entertainer Titan who has toured with Rhianna and appeared on Big Brother, will treat shoppers to two performances on Saturday August 29.
