Free events for Ladyfest

Preston’s city centre Korova Arts Café & Bar joins in LadyFest Preston tonight by showcasing the best female talent from around the region.

It starts with LadiesKlectic, a special edition of Korova’s regular night KorovaKlectic, followed Saturday night by Shh Music! Present a Ladyfest evening of acoustic music.

LadiesKlectic, will showcase Israeli musician Avital Raz and Preston author Jane Brunning, who will shortly have the final book from her Witherstone trilogy, on sale.

The night will also feature some of the best emerging female talent from Preston, including solo artist Kerry Carroll, film maker Beth Norwood and musician and poet Katie Ryan.

The night will also feature Guild-winning poet Lorna Smithers. The night is being MC’d by KorovaKlectic’s resident MC Kiri Pritchard-McLean.

On Saturday’s Ladyfest acoustic music night sees the multi-talented Helen Maher headlining.

She moves easily between French chanson, Gypsy jazz, Folk, Russian and classical music.

Maher has previously played with Mick Jones and Pete Best and will be supported by Laura Bailey and Richard Lomax.

Both events are free admission.
