Flag up BID’s big screen family fun for free

Preston’s Flag Market will be transformed into an outdoor cinema next month.

Familyfest is free to attend and has been organised by the Business Improvement District (BID), who will show four family films in the city on Saturday October 25.

The films will be shown under a covered grandstand on one a state-of-the-art outdoor screen.

The films are Disney’s Frozen, The Lego Movie, The Chronicles of Narnia and the original version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

John Bidwell, Chairman of BID, said: “We are a truly family friendly city and events like this are our way of saying, come and enjoy Preston”.

Complementary popcorn and soft drinks will be offered, although seats are limited and available on a first come-first served basis with some characters from the films expected to make an appearance on the day.

Familyfest will run alongside the Comic-Con convention, which comes toPreston for the first time, and is expected to attract thousands of visitors to the Guild Hall.

Comic-Con will see Guardians of the Galaxy star Spencer Wilding and Michael Henbury from Star Wars as well as authors and illustrators visitinf the city for the first time.
