Films and advice for elderly
The Dukes in Lancaster is to show another classic musical on the big screen as part of its drive to increase older people’s access to the arts.
Seven Brides For Seven Brothers (U) stars Howard Keel as one of the brothers in search of a wife for them all and features such famous songs as Bless Your Beautiful Hide and Goin’ Courtin’ alongside impressive dance routines.
The Lancaster venue and Age UK Lancashire will also host the Journey Café on Tuesday when anyone with memory problems and their families can find helpful information and friendly advice. The afternoon screening is open and welcoming to everyone but has been specially programmed for people with dementia and their families. Some changes will be made to lighting and sound to ensure a comfortable environment.
