In a sequence expected to air this coming Saturday, the crew filmed Sausage – guessed by some to be actress and singer Sheridan Smith – enjoying a holiday barbecue at the

picturesque 57-pitch countryside park.

As a thank you for permission to use the park for footage, the crew gave Linda Jane and Jonathan £250 but instead of keeping the money, they decided to double it to £500 and donate it

to Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

Linda Jane explained two close friends are currently receiving treatment at Rosemere Cancer Centre, Lancashire and South Cumbria’s regional specialist cancer treatment and

radiotherapy centre at the Royal Preston Hospital.

She said: “When the production company first got in touch, I thought it was a joke so we took some convincing!

“After the filming, we were told to say nothing to anyone.

“Although I saw Sausage, I didn’t know who it was.

“The crew was no bother at all but when members offered us the money, we told them we would give it to Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

“One of our friends is currently being treated after being diagnosed with throat and nasal cancer last April, which was a big shock.”

Linda Jane, who was a Shorrock before she married husband Richard, grew up on the land, which was formerly Kirby’s Farm – a working farm belonging to her grandma Jane and grandad

Thomas and then passing to her parents, Bill and Mildred, before she and Jonathan diversified into tourism.
