A Far From Nervous Return

Goodall, who studied for a BA in Music Practice in 2007/8 at UCLAN’s Media Factory, is returning as the drummer in Leeds based retro punk band Nervous Twitch, playing at The Ferret on Saturday 5th April, and has nothing but good memories of the city. “The time I spent there was great,” said Goodall, “met a lot of really cool people and was surrounded by music the entire time. It’s going to be quite a nostalgic night for me. I haven’t been back since I moved to Leeds and if I could see a few old faces as well that would make my night.”

Nervous Twitch are spending 2014 gigging and recording new music, and this will be their first trip as a group to Preston, a city with a music scene Goodall considers underrated. The band – Goodall, plus singer Erin Van Rumble, guitarists Jay Churchley and Ollie Chalkley - are joined on the bill by the headliners, Manchester’s post-punks Corvids, and Go Around Captain, whose members come from Preston and Blackpool and have played The Ferret several times before.

Go Around Captain cemented their line-up in late 2013, and have since gained a reputation for fast, energetic live shows and wide appeal, and have previously supported the likes of This Town Needs Guns and Enemies. Of the Ferret, their guitarist Tony Arnott said that “it’s a fantastic venue and has been now for almost ten years. The sound is phenomenal compared to other venues of a similar size and the atmosphere is great to play in. We’re very much looking forward to returning to play it again, it’s a stage that just feels so comfortable!”

Doors are at 8pm on Saturday 5th April and entry is free.
