Evil to do good with Blizzmas Blitz benefit

Preston’s premier monsters of metal Evil Blizzard will crown a great 2014 with a hometown gig at the Blitz nightclub on December 13.

This has been a special year for the band who have gained national exposure and been seen supporting the likes of Killing Joke, Hawkwind, The Ruts DC and Sleaford Mods.

In keeping with the season of goodwill the band will be handing £1 from every ticket sold to good causes.

A spokesman for the scary bass beasts said: “In the spirit of Blizzmas we’ll donate the cash to two local homeless charities, along with any money raised

on the night through sales of Blizzard special edition goods.

“We believe it is good to give something back to the local community, and it will make this a special night for all who attend and a great way to finish off the year for us.”

Support will be “something a little different” and the band will be coming on stage at around 10.30pm. There will be a post gig Blizzard disco until late.

This looks likely to be the last local show for sometime as the band will be gigging more out of town and into Europe.

Their new album is set to be recorded early in the new year.
