The Dukes lays on the best of the Festival

The Neil Cowley Trio, who currently hold the title of Jazz FM Artist of the Year, is not your typical jazz trio.

Neil has done stints with many pop and soul artists, including the Brand New Heavies and Adele.

He is a dazzling composer and pianist who creates dynamic music with powerful rip-roaring riffs. It’s an accessible sound with some serious grooves.

The Dukes is also hosting the day-long Jazz Festival Symposium on September 20.

Thinking with Jazz will feature talks to consider the role of festivals within the local economy, and a workshop to explore the practical aspects of developing and managing music festivals.

Speakers include John Cumming (Director, London Jazz Festival); Gerry Godley (Director, Five Points Festival, Dublin); Fiona Talkington (broadcaster, BBC Radio 3); and Professor Tim Wall (Birmingham City University).
