Driving you wild over the summer holidays

Make a break for the great outdoors this afternoon as Wild Families promises team-based fun that the whole family can enjoy.

A popular family activity in 2012, Wild Families, at the Brockholes Wetlands Nature Reserve in Samlesbury, has attracted more than 100 people to each event so far.

Past activities have included Boat Regattas and Spell Casts. Activities are predominantly outside and include a natural play element.

This year, participants are encourage to work as a team to build a den village in the woodland with their family. Mini games will also be held to offer the chance of winning extra materials to put on the den.

Prices start at £3 per person, or £10 for a family ticket, and under twos can go for free.

The event, which takes place in the Activity Room and around the reserve, will run from 2pm until 4pm. Booking is recommended to secure a place. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
