Dillinger are a well put together four-piece blues/rock covers band from Chorley.

Fronting the band is Duncan Yates on lead vocals and guitar, backed by Tim Leyland on guitar, vocals and harmonica, Pete Liddle on drums and Nathan Kilburn on bass.

Kicking off the evening was a great take of the Peter Green classic Oh Well, and we then moved into a bit of popular Thin Lizzy with Rosalie.

A great mix of cover followed including Clapton’s Cocaine and Tom Petty’s I Won’t Back Down.

Dillinger finished the first set with the classic Fleetwood Mac number Chain, which was simply excellent.

The second set brought another interesting mix with Stealers Wheels’ Stuck In The Middle With You, a dash of Deep Purple’s Black Night, a couple of Thin Lizzy numbers, with even a touch of the Rod Stewart’s Stay With Me.

A guest, Phil Baker, was invited up to sing on The Doors’ classic Roadhouse Blues and did a great job.

It wouldn’t be the same without a bit of Hendrix, so a well put together Voodoo Child was played to finish, with a class version of Led Zeppelin’s Rock ’n Roll for the encore.

It’s good to hear covers being played well but also in a band’s own style.

With good vocals and guitar playing and a well synched bass and drums, Dillinger did a great job. It was also good to have another pub in the local area in support of Keeping Live Music Alive, so well done to the White Horse too.
