The former host of iconic pop culture programme, The Word, brings his new touring show, Naked Confessions of a Recovering Catholic, to Preston’s Frog and Bucket comedy club from 8pm.

The presenter bares all in a hilarious romp through his Catholic upbringing in a poor area of Manchester and his subsequent life as both a prominent face on the Madchester scene and in the media circus.

Raised as one of six in a family where money was always tight and life was tough, his introduction to the world of radio and TV came as quite a shock to the system.

As one of Britain’s most notorious and outspoken TV personalities, Christian also recalls his time on The Word and Celebrity Big Brother and his often bizarre encounters with some of the world’s biggest stars, from Kurt Cobain to soul superstar James Brown.

A spokesman said of the show: “It’s definitely not for the fainthearted!

“When gang warfare in Moss Side and Old Trafford is the least of your worries - compared to sadistic nuns, paedophile priests and your best mate being the local hard nut who just wants to kick your head in, is it any wonder Terry turned out a t***?!”

Doors open at 7pm with the show beginning at 8pm at the Lords Walk club. And audience members also get a chance to ask their own questions as Terry will take part in a Q and A after the show.
