Favourite performers from the live music event will take to the streets each Saturday as Christmas shoppers pack the streets.

The aim is to bring a festive atmosphere to the town in a bid to make Chorley a more lively and entertaining place to do your shopping Christmas.

The acts will perform in four locations in town throughout the day, with each playing a 20-minute slot at a time.

Coun Peter Wilson, deputy leader of Chorley Council, said: “After the Christmas lights switch on, we’ve got fun activities in the town centre each Saturday in the run up to Christmas.

“We had such good feedback from the Chorley Live event that we wanted to bring back some of the performers for a mini-event.

“We hope people will come out watch them perform and tie it in with doing some Christmas shopping and support local traders.

“It should add a really good atmosphere to the town centre with the performances spread out to encourage people to spend time in different parts of the town.”

Performances will be taking place at the Market Walk entrance from Flat Iron car park, in front of the town’s Covered Market on Cleveland Street, at St Mary’s Arch, on Market Street, and in New Market Street, at the junction with Chapel Street, just opposite to WH Smiths.

The shows will kick off at 11am and run through until 3pm with ten minute breaks between sets.

These Christmas Saturday events begin on Saturday November 23 with shows from Brian Hobbs, Tom Turrican, Music For All, Sarah Beattie, Chorley Gleemen, Morgan and Pipedream
