And this month it will be returning to Live at LICA’s Great Hall with a programme that delves into the world of Berlin cabaret and political theatre in the early 20th century.

The versatile soprano Mary Carewe will join Camerata principal players as they journey through the music of this time in an evening that features songs by Schoenberg, Zemlinksy, Spoliansky, Weill, Eisler, Hollaender and Gershwin.

Included in the programme will be Falling in Love Again, Mack the Knife, Chuck Out the Men, Alone in a Big City and many more.

In talking about her accomplished performances, The Times said: “Mary Carewe, whose voice travels effortlessly from contemporary classical to Broadway and Hollywood, has a sweet-toned soprano with a dash of lemon and spice.”

Manchester Camerata presents an annual series at The Bridgewater Hall, where it is the chamber orchestra in residence.
