Brass championships at Guild
The dawn chorus will be drowned out by the sound of brass at Preston Guild Hall on Sunday morning when the annual Lancashire Contests Brass at the Guild competition starts at 9am.
For the second year running the festival format will host a choice of set test pieces and competition will be in five nationally-graded sections – Championship, First, Second, Third and Fourth, with a prize fund of £4,000.
It’s all designed to provide bands with the opportunity to evaluate their progress in preparation for the regional event.
In addition the British Open Youth at the Guild Festival will take place in the Charter Theatre venue.
