Adams had been named as the division’s manager of the month for December last week thanks to his side’s impressive form over the Christmas period – albeit before the games against Bolton Wanderers and Bradford City were postponed because of Covid-19 cases in the Shrimps’ ranks.
That meant Adams’ players had to miss 10 days of training before the Chelsea game but now they are back up and running with their sights set on Leyton Orient this weekend.

“Now that is over, we are setting our sights on the league campaign and looking to start the new year as well as we ended the last one.
“We have 26 games to go in the league now and there is a lot to play for.
“We are in a good position and we were playing well until the self-isolation period – and we want to hit the ground running this weekend because we have a lot of games coming up over the next few weeks and we want to keep the momentum going.”

He said: “We will have a look around and see what players are available.
“We won’t just take anyone though, we have a squad of players here that are doing well and we only want to strengthen that squad where we can and bring in players that will make a difference.”
