With the long Easter weekend now under way, many will be looking forward to sharing chocolate gifts and cards to mark the celebration.

But if you are hoping for a delivery from family or friends over the bank holiday, you should expect some delays as Royal Mail won’t be operating under normal service.

Is there post on Good Friday?

Royal Mail will not be making any collections or deliveries on Good Friday (10 Apr) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

In Scotland, collections and deliveries will operate as normal.

Normal postal service will resume across the whole of the UK on Easter Saturday (11 Apr).

Is there any post on Easter Sunday?

There won’t be any letters or parcels arriving on Easter Sunday (12 Apr) in any part of the UK.

Similarly, no collections or deliveries will be made the following day on Easter Monday (13 Apr) in Scotland, England, Wales, or Northern Ireland.

The postal service will return to normal from Tuesday 13 April.

Royal Mail said: “We deliver and collect your mail on most days of the year, including Saturdays.
