Preston Bus has drastically reduced capacity on its 26 services around the city to help passengers follow social distancing guidelines.
Because buses will be running at limited 'social distancing' capacity, services might not stop for people waiting at bus stops, even if they appear half-empty.

It said some passengers might have to wait a bit longer to board another service, particularly on popular routes to and from the city centre.
A spokesman for Preston Bus said: "With more people allowed to return to work and retailers opening, due to social distancing we are limiting the capacity on our buses.
"This means you may not be able to board the first service. Please plan ahead and allow extra time."

Standing in the aisles is also not permitted to prevent close contact with other passengers.
Free face coverings will be available from pop-up stalls across Preston city centre, as well as hand-sanitising stations in Fishergate and Church Street.
A number of safety measures have been introduced to protect passengers and bus drivers. These are:
1. Use Contactless or its App to pay for fares
2. Board and exit the bus one at a time
3. Remember social distancing onboard
4. Keep your hands clean
5. Do not travel if you are feeling unwell
6. It is compulsory to wear a face covering
