Six fire engines sent to tackle commercial building blaze in Preston

Firefighters from Fulwood were called to reports of a building fire at a commercial premises on Inglewhite Road at around 4.37pm today (May 27).
Further support was requested once fire crews arrived, with six fire engines ultimately attending the incident.

Hide AdIt has now been confirmed the incident has been reduced down to one fire engine which will remain at the scene.
A road closure was also reportedly put in place by police while firefighters tackled the blaze.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The fire is involving an outbuilding approximately 5m by 20m with a silo attached.
"Further support was requested and there are now firefighters from Preston, Longridge, Bamber Bridge and Garstang also in attendance.

Hide Ad"Currently four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using one main jet and a hose reel to tackle the fire."
No casualties have been reported, but residents living near the fire were advised to close their windows and doors as a precaution if they are being affected by smoke from the fire.
However, the smoke has now dissipated and the precautionary advise to close windows and doors in the local vicinity has now been lifted.
