Matilda Green, from Garstang will be holding her own tea party on bank holiday Sunday (August 28) in the hope to raise money for The Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity, Sands.
The event is being held in memory of Matilda’s little brother, Jesse, who passed away at just six days old in 2018.

Hide AdMatilda’s mum, Becky Green of Forton in Garstang, said: “Matilda’s twin brothers Bobby and Jesse, were born prematurely in August 2018. They contracted sepsis and Jesse died six days later. As a family we have done lots of fundraising over the last four years for various charities who supported us along the way.
“August 28 falls in the middle of the twins' birthday and Jesse’s anniversary so Matilda’s initial idea was to throw a birthday party for Jesse. As this idea evolved into the charity tea event, we asked Matilda who she would like to fundraise for and she said she’d like a charity who looked after other babies and their mummy’s and daddy’s when a baby dies.”
Scorton Village Hall, which is based on Factory Brow, will be open from 10:30am-3pm for the public to join Matilda and her family for ‘lots of yummy food, drinks and fun activities’ to raise as much money as possible for the stillbirth and neonatal death charity.
Matilda has even hand-drawn her own invitations for the event to attract the local community to her party. This is the six-year-old’s second fundraising activity in her brother's name as she walked 15km along the Lancaster Canal last year.
