A spokesman for BPMRT said: "Late this morning, we were requested by the North West Ambulance Service to assist with a 72-year-old male who had fallen and taken a tumble whilst he was clearing and cleaning paths/tracks in Denham Quarry.
"He injured his shoulder and ribs during the fall and the ambulance service requested our specialist skills and equipment to evacuate him to safety and to the ambulance where he was then transferred into Preston Royal Hospital.
"We wish him a speedy recovery, for what is our fifth incident of 2021."
