Lancashire County Council's catering services to schools and care homes has been labelled 'world class' by independent assessors
The county council was given the accolade at the Institute of Hospitality Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony, run by Hospitality Assured and the Institute of Hospitality.
The award was given to the council on Tuesday following a three day audit inspection and assessments and visits to nine schools and four care homes.

Hide AdThe service was awarded a score of 75.7 per cent which is recognised by Hospitality Assured as providing customers with a world class service.
County Coun Susie Charles, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Schools, inset, said: “To be recognised by this external industry assessor reflects the efforts of everyone to deliver excellent standards of customer service.
“It demonstrates to everyone our commitment to providing high standards and putting the people who use our services at the heart of everything we do.”
The council was also crowned joint Best Newcomer at its first attempt, the standard for delivering service and business excellence in hospitality.
