Generous Val's milestone donation
The Tesco worker from Lostock Hall celebrated her landmark birthday by holding a homemade cake sale at her store and asking family and friends to make a donation to Legacy Rainbow House in Mawdesley rather then buying her presents.
She was introduced to the children’s charity’s work by her brother Barry Skelhorn, a member of the RAOB (Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes) and long term supporter of Rainbow House.

Val said: “I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated money to this wonderful charity and making my 60th birthday one to remember.”
Carole Cochrane, CEO at Rainbow House added:“I would like to thank Val for her generosity and the RAOB who are great supporters of Rainbow House for all of their fund raising efforts which are very much appreciated.
As we have no statutory funding, every penny donated helps us to maintain and develop our services.”
