A stolen car was stopped by police and two people were subsequently arrested after officers found a "nasty weapon" and drugs during a search of the vehicle.

A stolen vehicle was "stung" by police on the M61 at around 5.16am this morning (April 2).

Officers found a "nasty weapon", which looks to be a meat clever, and a large amount of drugs while conducting a search of the vehicle.
