Two men have been arrested following a fight on a train bound for Preston on Saturday morning (July 30.)

During the incident a fire extinguisher was also set off on board, with reports of the fight making its way to British Transport Police before the train arrived into Preston.

Two men, both in their thirties, were arrested on suspicion of assualt, one also for racial aggravation, but have since been released.

Two men were arrested at Preston train station on Saturday following a fight.

A spokesperson told the Post: “British Transport Police received a report at 9.54am on Saturday 30 July of a fight that took place on-board a train to Preston.

“Officers met the train at Preston station and a 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault. A 34-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of assault and a racially aggravated public order offence.

“Both men were conveyed to police custody, and have been released pending further investigation.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
