Benefit cheat’s income ‘increased’
A woman who fraudulently failed to reveal a change in her circumstances to claim benefits has appeared in court.
Elizabeth Hindle, of Three Nooks, Bamber Bridge, admitted dishonestly failing to notify the Department for Work and Pensions that her income had increased between May 28, 2014 and May 19, 2015.

The 46-year-old also pleaded guilty to a similar charge of failing to tell South Ribble Council of the same change, which had affected her claim for housing benefit.
She was ordered to pay a £120 fine, a £20 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
The bench accepted she had fully co-operated and had “shown remorse”.
Mini cannabis farm in Leyland address

Hide AdA man who cultivated a mini cannabis farm at an address in Leyland has been ordered to do 200 hours’ of unpaid work.
Sean Stuart Henry Pidduck, of Meadowcroft Road, Leyland, admitted producing cannabis between February and June 2016, during a hearing at Preston Magistrates’ Court.
The plants amounted to a haul of 518.52g of the drug, the hearing was told.
The 24-year-old defendant also admitted a charge of dishonestly abstracting an unknown amount of electricity in relation to the electricity supply being bypassed at the property.

Hide AdPidduck was given a rehabilitation activity requirement by the court.
The bench also ordered him to pay an £85 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.

Karolina Kukulska, 35, of Pinfold Street, Callon, Preston, was banned for 12 months after she was found guilty of failing to give a breath test and must pay a £415 fine, a £41 surcharge and £100 costs.
Zach Ferrigno, 22, of Derby Road, Longridge, Preston, was banned for 15 months after admitting drink driving and must pay a £120 fine, £30 surcharge and £85 costs.
