Collapsed man is rescued by firefighters
A man who had collapsed in woodland was taken to hospital for treatment.
Two fire engines and crews from Chorley and a third engine and crew from Bamber Bridge responded to the incident near Birkacre in Chorley.
They had received a report of a man who had collapsed in woodland at the foot of a hill not far from the road.
After paramedics had assessed the casualty’s condition, firefighters carried him on a stretcher to an ambulance and he was taken to hospital.
The incident happened at about 1pm today.
