Battered mum forced to flee home with baby
Police found the bleeding young mum sheltering from the rain in a phone box with the infant, Preston Crown Court heard
Her attacker and former partner, Francis Robson, was jailed for 22 months after admitting causing actual bodily harm and assaulting her twice in the preceding days.

Hide AdRecorder Melton QC said: “You weren’t brought to your senses by the seriousness of what happened, you tried to hide from it.”
On June 28, Robson, 23, formerly of Lancaster Road, Catterall, slapped his victim and her 11-year-old son had called the police. The following day he punched her, causing a black eye.
On July 4, he attacked her again after returning from a night out.
Prosecuting, Joe Allman said: “It seemed he was angry because the children were up later than usual. It ended in him throwing a punch at her.

Hide Ad“She ran out of the house and sat on a bench on the A6 for a while. She received text messages from the defendant saying, in essence, he hated her. She texted back saying she had called the police.
“After some time the defendant then appeared, ran at her and punched her in the head. The defendant then walked away and she called 999, but the defendant then ran back and punched her repeatedly in the head and body, took her phone and ended the call.
“They walked home, but when police arrived, Robson made her leave with their baby daughter and lied that she was at her parents.
