Dick Kerr Ladies star at IWM
The story of Preston’s amazing wartime women’s football team, The Dick Kerr Ladies, will be part of a festival coming soon to Manchester’s Imperial War Museum.
As part of the museum’s celebration of wartime health and fitness, the Fit For Action festival will feature a performance about the Preston munitions factory ladies who used to draw crowds of thousands to their games until they were banned from FA grounds.
The museum’s regular live group, What A Performance, will bring their story and other tales to life on Wednesdays and Thursdays from August 7 to 29, at 11.15pm, 12.15pm, 1.15pm and 2.15pm.
Fit For Action encourages families to get fit and find out about wartime fitness with lots of free activities until Wednesday, September 4.
