Couple have the right Formula for a long and happy married life...

Victoria and Paul tried to keep their office romance a secret.

But true love always finds away and it wasn’t long before the secret was out.

Back in 2008, Victoria, Head of Compliance at Forrest from Fulwood, started her first job at Paul’s office.

“Twelve months later on a night out – dressed as Snow White – I bumped into Paul and we shared a drunken kiss,” says Victoria.

“We started dating a month later, Paul moved into his new house soon after and I followed six months later.”

The pair tried to keep their relationship a secret for around three months before rumours started to spread.

“I think it probably became a bit obvious,” adds Victoria.

And almost three years into the the relationship, Paul, an estimator from Walton Park, decided a holiday in
Cyprus was the perfect time to propose.

Victoria says: “He had been thinking about asking me and looking at rings but when we arrived in Cyprus for a holiday, our favourite place in the world, he decided to buy a ring.

“He had it custom made to what he knew I wanted as I had been hinting then rang my dad to ask permission. Then he proposed in a lovely restaurant.”

OnMarch 8, the couple, who now live in Buckshaw Village, were married at St John’s Church, Broughton.

Before the ceremony, Victoria called in to see her grandparents who were too ill to come to the wedding so they could see her in her gown – an Alfred Angelo Disney Collection ‘Snow White’.

“That was my first teary moment,” says Victoria.

“As I was dressed as Snow White when we first kissed I didn’t try another one on when I saw the name of the dress.”

And Victoria wasn’t the only one to try on her frock for size.

“Somehow before I went into the church a spider and a moth made it inside my dress but luckily Paul’s brother, Nikk, saved me!”

“I practically ran up the aisle and when I got to Paul I couldn’t quite get my vows out without giggles and tears – especially the till death do us part bit.”

At the wedding reception, held at Bartle Hall’s Balmoral Suite, a juggler entertained the newlyweds’ guests, some of whom had flown in especially from Tenerife where the groom’s dad is originally from.

“The speeches were amazing,” adds Victoria

“My dad was hilarious and Paul moved everyone to tears.

“The best man even got heckled by his one-year-old daughter – she laughed at the perfect moment which made everyone else erupt into laughter.”

As the evening reception got underway and the cake, made by family friend, Jackie Coleman, had been cut, another special guest arrived.

Entertainment in the form of a Formula One car simulator “went down a storm” and had guests queing up from the time it arrived until the time it sped off into the sunset.

Victoria says: “The day was amazing, everything went to plan and everything was on time.”

The new Mr and Mrs escaped to Scotland for a few days following the wedding thanks to a colleague lending them her house before the trip of a lifetime in May.

Victoria said: “We’re going to visit Las Vegas, San Diego, Disneyland, Los Angeles, Hawaii and San Francisco.”

“We can’t wait!”
