The President welcomed members, visitors and new members to the July meeting.
Since there had been no meeting in June there was plenty of WI information and courses to announce.
Members were particularly interested in the proposed increase in the annual fee for membership which the President suggested we divide by 12 and then it didnt seem so bad!
The speaker was Canon Robert Brunswick, a retired vicar, who gave a very entertaining talk about humourus situations that can arise in the life and work of the church.
There was no mistaking his dedication to his ministry since he now spends a lot time as a speaker raising money for the Anglican Church in West Africa.
The competition was won by Liz Lark who had very aptly decorated a boiled egg as a vicar.
After refreshments the birthday flowers went to Pauline M. and Jean K. and generous 5 raffle prizes were drawn and the meeting ended with the national anthem.
The next meeting is on August 12 at the Priory Club Leyland at 1.30pm there is no speaker as this the meeting that members organise, that should be fun.
