Today one reader writes in discuss losing his seat at Deepdale next season. David Coupe said: "I have discovered that I am being kicked out of my seat on the Kop next season.
Thank you PNE for letting me know. I happen to sit with four friends who are also season ticket holders and as from next season if we don't turn up very early we will be spread all over the Kop."
Kicked off the Kop by PNEWhat is the point of a PNE newsletter if it doesn't tell me the news that affects me or my club? I have discovered that I am being kicked out of my seat on the Kop next season.
Thank you PNE for letting me know. I happen to sit with four friends who are also season ticket holders and as from next season if we don't turn up very early we will be spread all over the Kop.
I can only say that this is a shabby way to treat loyal supporters (PNE customers). I've only been a Preston supporter for 38 years and to tell you the truth I feel more and more distant from the club. I couldn't see this kind of thing being done on the Finney stand, so why us?
Am I buying a season ticket for next season? What do you think PNE? I spend a lot of money every season for a guaranteed seat. Treat your fans with a bit more respect.
David Coupe, via emailFond memories of Tony SingletonThe recent Looking Back photo featuring former PNE player Tony Singleton made me remember how Tony, his wife and son used to live next door to me and my family.
Tony's son was about four years younger than me and my brothers and I used to play football with him in the backyard.
That was about 40 years ago. It goes to show, house prices and football wages eh? We lived in Cemetery Road, so I would think our house was worth about £3,000 then. So what was Tony earning? Not the money of today.
I was sad to hear he had passed away; I can remember him being a good guy and he sometimes got us into the football for free.
Paul Reilly, via emailLucky to live in a democracy? The future of Little Broad Oak Farm and the development of the site on which the house stands in Penwortham, subject of a number of reports in the Lancashire Evening Post, has been determined.
The council received 82 letters of objection to this development and many local councillors objected.
Penwortham town council raised objections, the South Ribble planning committee has refused the development on several occasions.
The planning applications officer of the council also objected.
The developer, Wainhomes Development Ltd, Chorley appealed. RJ Yuillie, MSc Dip T.P, MR TPI from the planning inspectorate, a government department in Bristol who as far as I know does not live locally or have any connection with the area, a person appointed by the secretary of state for communities and local government , NOT elected, has allowed the development to go ahead.
In the Appeal Decisions report, decision dated April 10, it would appear none of the many objections by any of the interested persons were given any consideration.
Application for costs was made by the applicant, Wainhomes. Their QC Mr S.Savvain will not come cheap!
Another bill for the council tax payers of South Ribble. Isn't it grand? Ain't we lucky to live in a democracy?
D Martin, Penwortham, PrestonFare's unfair on the busesAfter all these years isn't it high time that Preston Bus installed fare machines that give change?
In the state-of-the-art fleet of buses currently being run by the company there's modern this and digital that, but I notice the same non-change-giving fare machines that were in use more than 20 years ago are still with us. I recently had to put in a £2 coin for a 1.20p fare, as it was the least change in my purse, so Preston Bus are 80p to the good! I was informed that I could have asked for a credit note for the change I was owed but just how practical is that?
Obviously Preston Bus are literally coining it. I know the answer – I'm off to Stagecoach.
