Cyclist knocked off bike by Ford Focus as police appeal for more information

A cyclist suffered cuts and grazes after being knocked from his bike by a car.

The incident occurred at around 8.30am on May 14 on the A59 Longton Bypass, close to the roundabout at Knoll Lane, Much Hoole.

The car – a blue Ford Focus – collided with a cyclist on a green pedal cycle, before leaving the scene.

Police say the cyclist, a 38-year-old man from Accrington, suffered some cuts and grazing.

The male driver of the car was later traced and has now been spoken to but we would still like to hear from anybody who saw the incident.

PC Mark Potter, of Preston Police, said: “We would like to piece together exactly what occurred and we are now appealing to anybody who saw this incident to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
