Thousands of women powered their way through the mud-filled course to complete Preston’s Pretty Muddy event.

The 5k race in Avenham Park is part of the Race for Life weekend and raises money for cancer research.

The event continues tomorrow with 5k and 10k races, also in Preston’s Avenham Park, from 11am.

One of the finishers of Pretty Muddy was Louise Taylor, group facilitator for the Space Centre in Preston, who sent us her ‘before and after’ race picture.

For a full round-up of both events, picture specials and complete list of entrants, see Monday’s Lancashire Evening Post.
