A woman has been taken to hospital after crashing her car into Bargain Booze.

Lancashire Police and Fire Service attended the scene on Ribbleton Avenue, Preston, before paramedics assessed the woman and took her to Royal Preston Hospital.

The incident happened at 1.45pm and a spokesman for the fire service said he did not know how badly the 55-year-old woman was.

"When we arrived it wasn't clear what had happened," the spokesman said. "The car had driven into some wooden cladding on the front of the shop which was slightly damaged.

"The front of the car was slightly damaged as well but because she wasn't trapped we stood by to assist if needed.

"She was taken to hospital in an ambulance but we're not sure how bad her injuries are."
